Honorees to be recognized at the 2016 Houston Bone Bash
[April 15, 2016] Houston, TX – The Arthritis Foundation is pleased to announce this year’s Medical Honoree and Ötzi Award recipient, who will both be recognized at this year’s 2016 Bone Bash on Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Hotel Derek in Houston.
Dr. Sippi Khurana, Medical Honoree, is the owner and practicing physician at Allergy and Rheumatology Specialists of Houston in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, and also currently serves as Assistant Professor for Texas A&M Health Science Center. She was named “Houston Top Doc” by Texas H magazine three consecutive years and is board certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Khurana leads the fight in the arthritis community by ensuring her patients have the best care possible to live their fullest life. She is a true Champion of Yes!
The Ötzi Award recipient is former Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. This honor is given to Houston community leaders that exemplify a giving spirit and willingness to help the Arthritis Foundation conquer arthritis. Adrian will be the third person to receive this award in Houston. Inaugural recipient was Dr. Carolyn Farb and 2015 recipient was Gus Parvizian owner of Houston’s Parvizian Rugs & Home.

Their contributions to making the lives of people with arthritis better serves our entire community.” says Jen Torres, senior development director of the Arthritis Foundation. “Arthritis is costly, painful and debilitating, and makes a significant impact in the lives of people in our community. These individuals help countless people in the community who are dealing with the everyday pain and disability of this disease.”
Bone Bash is a costumed affair for adults that include spooky decorations, costume contests, auction and frightfully fun music, games and more. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, seated dinner, bar, music and dancing.
