This week Katy ISD’s Maintenance and Operations Department celebrated the hard work and achievements of its more than 700 team members. At the annual awards ceremony on June 8, all Maintenance and Operations employees were honored, and more than 80 individuals and campuses received awards.
The top recognition awarded this year was the coveted Overall Outstanding Employee of the Year, which was given in the maintenance, grounds and operations categories. This award was given to Alonzo Garza in the maintenance category, Albert Nanez in the grounds category and Violeta Vasquez in the operations category.
Katy ISD’s Maintenance and Operations team oversees the upkeep and operations of nearly 12 million square feet of property throughout the District every day.
