Ranks as the 3rd and 4th Most Conservative Senator by the Texas Eagle Forum and Rice University’s Mark Jones
AUSTIN – State Senator Don Huffines (R – SD 16) was rated as one of the top conservatives in the Texas Senate during the 84th Legislative Session. These most recent rankings come from the Texas Eagle Forum and Mark Jones of Rice University, who studied the entire Senate based on a statistical analysis of 1,491 roll call votes. “I told voters in Senate District 16 that I would be a strong conservative voice in Austin, and I kept my word,” said Senator Don Huffines. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to fight for liberty and economic freedom on behalf of my employers: the residents of Senate District 16. We took some great conservative steps forward in the 84th Legislature, and I am hard at work to continue to fight for liberty next session!”
Senator Huffines has scored in the top five of every major conservative scorecard to be released.
