Clik here to view. — June 11, 2015 — Houston — For Immediate Release — The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo awarded 70 Texas 4-H members with four-year, $18,000 college scholarships totaling $1.26 million during the Texas 4-H Roundup in College Station, Texas.
“The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is excited to assist Texas 4-H, which has a 100-year-plus history of supporting Texas youth,” said Joel Cowley, Show president and CEO.
Texas 4-H is one of the Show’s oldest scholarship programs, with the first scholarship awarded in 1957. Since then, Texas 4-H members have received more than 2,200 scholarships from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
The 70 scholarships awarded at the 2015 Roundup represent just a portion of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s annual commitment of more than $24 million to scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants and other educational programs.
