City of Katy to Test Outdoor Warning Systems

City of Katy residents and businesses – The City will be resuming a monthly schedule that will test our remaining three outdoor warning systems. The test will be every last friday of the month. We will not test the sirens in inclement weather. The first test will be at noon on Friday, July 31st and you will hear the wail of the siren for approximately one minute. The three remaining sirens are located at NORTH – Katy Hockley and Morton Road, EAST – Katyland Drive and 5th Street, SOUTH – South service I-10 between FM1463 and Pin Oak. We will continue to use the sirens in the event of an emergency until they are phased out. The City now uses KatyConnect for mass notification in the event of an emergency.
