Dear Katy ISD Community,
The District is developing a Community Bond Advisory Committee to explore campus and facility needs, and to develop a bond referendum proposal that addresses the continued growth in student enrollment. More than 2,000 new students are projected to make Katy and the school district their home every year.
Criteria:
Should you be interested in becoming a member of the Committee, your application will be carefully considered and every effort will be made to fulfill the objective of the Committee composition. Individuals interested in participating in the bond process should meet the criteria below, which was developed to achieve a broad base of community representation, as well as continuity in the deliberations from one meeting to the next.
Community Bond Advisory Committee Participant Criteria:
- Current resident living within the District boundaries;
- Attendance at thirteen Committee meetings held from 5:30-9:00 pm; light supper is provided for members at 5:00 pm (click here to view the schedule);
- Participation in all thirteen Committee deliberations;
- Commitment to share and present information about the Committee process and outcomes with organizations and/or networks with which you are affiliated
Community Bond Advisory Committee Format:
The Committee structure is designed to be accessible to the community. It is comprised of a 150-member deliberating/decision-making group consisting of community members who are representative of Board nominees, campuses, students, partner institutions, and professional and civic organizations.

All meetings are open for the public to learn, listen, and observe. Questions can be submitted by the public at each meeting, and will be reviewed by the Committee Chair for consideration at his/her discretion.
