Election Re-Enactment
at the 1830s Jones Stock Farm
The Ayuntmiento, or governing council, of Austin’s Colony chose the Jones home as one of 20 voting locations in the colony for an election held on November 6, 1830. Watch a reenactment of this election and learn about the issues that were forefront on the colonists’ minds.
Mock Trial at the 1860s Ryon Prairie Home
Explore one of the many trials of notorious female gambler Lottie Deno. Participate in a mock trial and help judge her fate!
Ongoing Events
A whole host of characters will be featured around the Park, ready to greet you and tell you their story. Visit Texas Ranger William Crump Callicott and learn about his time in the Rangers. Stop by and visit with Annie Webb Blanton, who would become the first woman in Texas elected to statewide office. Continue your historical journey and meet the indomitable Miriam Amanda Wallace “Ma” Ferguson, the first female governor of Texas. Also, rumor has it that Bonnie and Clyde might just be hanging around, so keep an eye out for this infamous duo!

Texas Rangers Historic Lunch
A special Tales of Texas/Texas Rangers Chuckwagon Lunch will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 25. The menu includes venison and wild boar chili, pork pozole, rice, beans, Pan D’Campo, cornmeal biscuits and dewberry cobbler. Cost for the meal is $15 for adults ages 13+, $12 for children ages 5-12 and $4 for children ages four and under. Cost for the Tales of Texas Saturday is general admission to the Park, which is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages five to 15. Children ages four and under are free.
