Harmony School of Innovation-Sugar Land and Harmony Science Academy-Pflugerville (Austin) were named among the ten-best high schools in their respective cities, according to rankings released today by Children @ Risk.
HSA-Pflugerville (formerly HSA-North Austin) was the highest-rated Harmony campus overall, placing seventh among 62 Austin-area high schools. It is also the highest ranked Austin charter high school on the list.
HSI-Sugar Land ranked eighth among 187 high schools surveyed. It, too, is the highest ranking public charter high school in Houston.
In all, nine Harmony Public Schools campuses ranked among the top 50 schools in each of the cities they serve: Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston. “We are so proud to be recognized again by Children @ Risk. Our teachers and staff work hard to provide a high-quality STEM-based education to all our students across the state,” said Zekeriya Yuksel, Harmony’s superintendent of schools. “But it’s our students who are really the stars. Their passion for learning and continual improvement inspires all of us.”
Children @ Risk rankings are calculated using four measures: student achievement based on STAAR reading & math scores, campus performance, improvement of standardized test scores (reading, English, and math), and college readiness.
