Katy, TX (September 23, 2017) – September 29 and 30 and October 1, Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center (KVPAC), award winning Encore Players, the Community Theatre of KVPAC, will present Reefer Madness, The Musical, directed by Jason Howard. Show times are January 29 and 30 at 8:00pm and October 1 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $20 for Adults, $18 for Seniors (55+) and Students, and $14 for groups of 10 or more.

Inspired by the original 1936 film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to the “demon drug” marijuana; A violent narcotic, leading the youth of America down a hysterical downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex and violence. You won’t be able to resist the spoofy fun of REEFER MADNESS. This dynamic musical will go straight to your head!
KVPAC Executive Artistic Director and award winning cast member, Gregory Magyar describes Reefer Madness, The Musical as “a wildly funny, often inappropriate look at the power of propaganda. While taking a biting look at the art of using fear to manipulate the masses, Jimmy Harper, Mary Lane and truly unexpected cast of characters explore the often dark, mature subject matter through light-hearted comedy and song.”
