Below are additional details, information and web links about SBA’s low-interest disaster loan programs for Businesses and Residents:

SBA does recommend all Residents and Businesses impacted by Harvey to register with FEMA at www.disasterassistance.gov, which is generally the fastest way, or by calling (800) 621-FEMA (3362).

Anyone impacted by the Hurricane Harvey that has questions about applying for SBA’s Disaster Assistance Loan programs, can always call our Customer Service Center at(800) 659-2955 for assistance or to ask about hours/locations of any Disaster Recovery Centers which may be opening near them, where they can talk to both FEMA and SBA representatives face-to-face.

Online information is available at www.sba.gov/disaster.

SBA helps businesses of all sizes, private nonprofits AND homeowners and renters by providing low-interest direct federal recovery loans. As low as 3.305 percent for businesses2.5 percent for private nonprofits and 1.75 percent for homeowners or renters, with terms up to 30 years. We can loan for any uninsured or under-insured damages. For small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations, SBA can also offer low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans as well as loans for physical damages.

Businesses, Private nonprofit organizations, Homeowners and Renters can get face-to-face help at any of the State/FEMA/SBA disaster recovery centers that are beginning to open throughout South TX, but they can also go directly online and apply for our low-interest disaster recovery loans.

I’ve attached our SBA pubic-facing flyers about SBA low-interest disaster loan programs. Lastly, I’ve attached today’s location listing show where Disaster Recovery Centers are located which are staffed by FEMA, SBA, other Federal agencies and State agencies as well as SBA’s Business Recovery Centers.

The Business Recovery centers are opened to provide assistance more tailored toward business applicants, many times along with our partners, the Texas Small Business Development Centers which have counselors that also help business owners make decisions about their recovery options. See the Resource Partners flyer attached.

Some KEY POINTS:

  • There is no cost to apply and no obligation to accept any loan funds.
  • Applicants don’t have to even know how much they may need when they apply.
  • They don’t have to wait for any insurance claims to fully settle.SBA will work with applicants while they are working on insurance claims settlements and making decisions on how to move forward in recovery.
