Clik here to view.Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, or CMT, is a group of inherited disorders that affect the peripheral nerves, which are the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. About 2.8 million people worldwide, of all races and ethnic groups, are affected by CMT.
Until now, the closest support group for those affected by CMT was in Dallas. This Thursday, Memorial Hermann will host the inaugural meeting of the CMT Association’s Houston Branch.
The first meeting will focus on getting acquainted and choosing topics and speakers for future meetings. Attendees also will be able to meet others who have CMT and share resources, ideas, CMT-related information and personal experiences.
