Fort Bend County Libraries’ Adult Services staff at the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will present a basic computer class, “Introduction to Google Docs,” on Monday, February 19, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.
The class will be repeated on Thursday, February 22, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the same location.
Those attending the class will set up a Google account and learn how to create, edit, and collaborate on documents online using the Google Docs application. If a Google account has already been created, bring the related information to the class.
Google Docs is a word-processing computer application that is part of a free, web-based software office suite offered by Google. The app is compatible with Microsoft Office and it allows users to create and edit files online while collaborating with other users in real-time.
Those attending the class are encouraged to bring their own laptop, but if one is not available, the library has a limited number of laptop computers that can be used.
The class is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Events,” select “Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-633-4675, or by visiting the library.
