HOUSTON, Feb. 23, 2018 – Days of Innovation are here during Space Center Houston Spring Break, when a lifetime of learning will lift off with robotics, rocketry and engineering March 10-18.

“We offer space and science exploration in a hands-on, immersive and experiential way,” said William T. Harris, president and CEO of the nonprofit. “Our spring break will be a launchpad for people of all ages to enjoy, experience and pursue learning, exploration and discovery.”

Guests will discover flown spacecraft from the first and last crewed lunar landings, see and touch actual moon and Mars rocks and conduct their very own space science experiments. This is Houston’s last chance to see the world premiere of “Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission” before it closes March 18. This blockbuster exhibit brought the command module from the first lunar landing of Apollo 11 outside the Smithsonian for the first time since 1971.

Included with general admission and just for spring break is a tour of NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab. This huge indoor pool with full-scale replicas of the International Space Station and other space vehicles is where astronauts train in a simulated microgravity environment.

For a premier experience, guests may purchase a ticket to have Lunch with an Astronaut, offered every day but Sundays during spring break. Or take advantage of other upgraded learning opportunities such as day camps for voyagers ages 4-18 and our ultimate educational experience, Space Center University® for ages 11 through adults.

The nonprofit’s spring break provides guests with views from beneath the wings of the historic and original shuttle carrier aircraft NASA 905. Guests also can spend a night under the stars during the new Family Campout program on March 10 with a special purchase ticket. Guests will build model rockets, explore robotics, train for spaceflight and more.

Each Day of Innovation has something unique for guests to experience what makes Space Center Houston a leading space and science exploration learning center. For a complete list of the activities by day, click here.

Tickets are available online at spacecenter.org or at the door. Prices range from $24.95 for children to $29.95 for adults with discounts for seniors and members of the military. Become a member and come back free as often as you like for one year, plus get free parking after the first visit.
