A one-day event delivering the hope and happiness of Christmas to struggling families in Fort Bend County.
Rosenberg, TX– Six hundred children will receive a little Christmas magic at five area locations on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. The event will be hosted by Fort Bend County Social Services and the Fort Bend County Collaborative Information System (FBCCIS) with generous help by local businesses and the community-at-large, including volunteers and multiple caring individuals who have all teamed up for one of the largest gift-giving, single-day events in Fort Bend County.
More than 1,000 Toys Donated
From 8 a.m.-12 noon, area children who have registered and meet income requirements will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and receive a donated gift. “These precious gifts could not reach the hands of these children without the help of our community partners and our wonderful donors,” said Anna Gonzales, Director of Social Services. “Our community partners have helped Social Services increase our child outreach to include those who would not have otherwise received this Christmas message of hope and happiness.”
One Day Event-5 Locations
The largest event participation will be at the Boys and Girls Club of Richmond. Other event locations include:
Boys and Girls Stafford Club in the City of Stafford, Boys and Girls Fort Bend Club of Missouri City, Barbara Jordan Youth Center in Needville, and the Mustang Community Center in Fresno.
What is the Fort Bend County Collaborative Information System
FBCCIS is an alliance of non-profit organizations whose purpose is to reduce duplication of effort and increase partnerships among non-profits in Fort Bend County. The collaborative includes: East Fort Bend Human Needs, Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, Second Mile Mission, Rosenberg/Richmond Helping Hands, Katy Christian Ministries, Fort Bend County Social Services, and Fort Bend County Community Paramedics. It is the intent of the collaborative to increase its members by inviting organizations who are currently providing similar services.
